You may want to call animal control as they are the experts
If you have found a stray pet, someone may be missing him.
Never assume that because a pet is stray that it is unloved or unwanted.
How to search for his owner-
Check him for rabies tags, ID tags, info on the collar, tattoos etc.
Take him to a vet or shelter to be scanned for a microchip.
Call and report the found pet to area animal shelters.
Place a "found" ad online and search the "lost" ads for free at

Some newspapers including The Kansas City Star allow free classified found ads, call & ask!
Post found posters at veterinary clinics and around your neighborhood.
Post the found pets on the bulletin board at Petsmart
